If you were anywhere near Lakeshore Road on July 1st, you already know: Canada Day #INThePort has become Mississauga’s largest Canada Day celebration, and this year’s event brought out the whole community.
A Full Day of Festivities
The day kicked off with the return of the Canada Day Parade, running along Lakeshore Road from Rosewood Avenue to Seneca Avenue between 11 a.m. and noon, featuring floats, performers, community groups, and marching bands. From there, the street festival took over Lakeshore Road from Stavebank Road to Hurontario Street, running until 11 p.m.
This year’s lineup included a 40-foot Ferris wheel, amusement rides, multiple live music stages, street performers, a Kids Zone, and local vendors throughout the day. Headliner Suzie McNeil closed out the main stage before the night ended with a spectacular fireworks display over the waterfront.
